Rachel Frederick, PA-C

Rachel Frederick is a Physician Assistant at Story Medical Clinic - Nevada. Rachel graduated from Des Moines University with MSPAS degree in 2012. She has experience in a variety of primary care settings including family medicine, pediatrics, and urgent care. Rachel has found that family medicine offers the ability to build a relationship with patient, their family, and the community. She enjoys the flexibility in the care she is able to offer including acute care, preventative health, and managing chronic illnesses. Rachel grew up in Roland, IA and feels very connected to central Iowa area. She enjoys being able to be involved in the community in addition to her day-to-day practice.

Rachel initiated ‘Kid’s Clinic’ at Story Medical which is an opportunity for children to be seen in morning in a walk-in format to be able to offer convenience and quality care to our local families.  She is also passionate about improving access to quality mental health. She has worked hard to develop strong relationships with local providers to be able to offer more comprehensive care for her patients. 

Rachel sees patients of all ages but does have special interest or knowledge in pediatrics, women’s health including contraceptive management and annual exams, mental health, and working through challenges of managing chronic disease. She focuses on having an open conversation with her patients and making sure they are able to actively participate in their care.

Rachel’s favorite things include the color purple, Diet Cherry Pepsi, cheeseballs, a good pair of jeans, spending time with husband and three children, lunch dates with friends, laughing to the point of crying, and being silly with co-workers.
