Audra Poterucha, DO
Audra (Lloyd) Poterucha, DO, is a board certified Family Medicine physician. She is originally from Nevada. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and then graduated from medical school at Des Moines University in 2016. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Des Moines at Broadlawns Medical Center. She was trained in broad spectrum family medicine care including OB/GYN, pediatrics, hospital medicine, care of chronic medical conditions, clinic-based office procedures, emergency/acute care, and geriatrics. She accepted a position at Story Medical Center in 2019 and is excited to continue her medical practice in her hometown.
Dr. Poterucha has a wide variety of medical interests, and this is one of the reasons she chose family medicine as her specialty. She sees patients of all ages in the Nevada Clinic where she takes care of both acute concerns and chronic medical conditions. She performs office-based procedures including orthopedic injections, contraception management with IUD and Nexplanon placement, and dermatologic procedures. She oversees patients and is the Medical Director at Story County Senior Care and rounds on acute and skilled admissions at the hospital. She is also designated as a FAA Aviation Medical Examiner and can perform flight physicals. She believes in evidence-based medicine, places an emphasis on education, and strives to give compassionate, respectful care to her patients.
Her interests outside of medicine including spending time with her husband and young children, being an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan, going to musicals, and being active outdoors.
