Story Medical Auxiliary

The Story County Medical Center Auxiliary is a volunteer group of individuals who contribute time and talent to Story County Medical Center and Story Medical Senior Care.

One of their main responsibilities is managing and staffing the gift shop and keeping items current with the season to ensure a wide variety of items. All revenues  raised from sales in the gift shop support the Medical Center.

Auxiliary History

In 1963 the Hospital Auxiliary was formed from the Nevada Federated Women's Club. The Auxiliary has contributed in many ways to Story Medical, both with the revenues from the gift shop and annual dues and with their time and talent. Notable contributions include support for smaller projects like providing televisions to patients on Acute in the 1980’s (before all hospital rooms had televisions), the extremely generous $10,000 donation in December 2009 to Story Medical’s building project, and the $10,000 donation in 2015 to the South Campus expansion. The Auxiliary has proven time and again to be a vital contributor to the success of Story Medical.

In 2009, when the South Campus of Story County Medical Center opened, the Auxiliary took on the responsibility of running two gift shops: the North Campus Gift Shop that serves the Senior Care residents, their families, and staff, and the gift shop located at the South Campus.

Today, the Auxiliary provides the same great services to Story Medical that they have since 1963. Auxiliary Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, and an annual meeting for all members is in June.
