Story Medical Clinic Announcement: Three New Reasons to "get excited"

Story Medical Clinic announced three “exciting” changes to its clinics today. This announcement comes on the heels of a month-long “teaser campaign.” Teaser promotions ranged from traditional advertising to four Iowa State University gymnasts “exciting the crowd” in the Lincoln Highway Days parade.

The clinics will begin offering a new and exciting chapter in its delivery of patient care. The Today Care program is a new policy that allows patients to be seen the same day they call for an appointment if they need care immediately.

“This is a natural evolution in the delivery of healthcare,” said Dr. Arthur Check, Medical Director for Story Medical Clinics. “We are proud to be ahead of the curve in offering Today Care and focusing on meeting patients’ needs in a caring and efficient way.”

Call today. Be seen the tagline for the program, and the Story Medical Clinic health care providers and clinic staff are prepared to drastically increase day-of appointments for patients.

“If patients need an appointment today, we will schedule them at one of our four clinics – today!” said Dona Morris, Director of Story Medical Clinics. “We’ve all been in the situation where we need an appointment “right now.” You’re leaving for vacation and think you might have pink eye, or your child is sick and waiting for an appointment will make for a very long weekend! We are accommodating those types of needs.”

In addition, every Story Medical Clinic has adjusted its hours to better meet patients’ needs. In Nevada, the clinic will open Monday through Friday at 7am for those needing appointments before work or school and will be open on Saturdays from 8am to Noon.

The clinics in Maxwell and Zearing will now be open Wednesday mornings, while the clinic in Slater will continue their extended hours on Wednesdays. A complete listing of the clinic hours by location is available online at

“By being more flexible in offering our services we can greatly reduce emergency room trips for minor ailments, along with providing patients more accessibility to their provider,” said Check.
